Don’t be left out in the cold when selling your home this winter!
Are you a seller planning to list your home this winter? Selling your home in the winter is not the same as selling in the Spring and Summer months. So, what are some tips you can do as a seller to spruce your home up in the Winter months? Well, in this video below are 5 tips to help you prepare your home for the market in the cold winter months 👇
#1 – Stage your Home for Winter.
Staging your home for the winter means doing your best to create a snug and cozy vibe. Some buyers may want to visualize snuggling up to a cozy fireplace. Use throw blankets and pillows, warm scents like cinnamon and clove, and put away any out-of-season items.
#2 – Focus on Lighting.
Winter months have different natural lighting because the sun sets earlier, so there may be less natural lighting with photographs and showings. Have extra lamps on, and make sure blinds are kept open and windows clean to help bring in more natural light.
#3 – Keep Seasonal Decor to a Minimum.
Don’t go overboard with winter decorations; keep it simple and understated. Make your home inviting and cared for.
#4 – Keep House at a Comfortable Temperature.
You may like it crisp and cool in the home so you can wear your snuggliest clothes, but No one likes to walk into a freezing home and see their breath! Keep the temperature comfortable during showings so buyers are not distracted by the cold.
#5 – Make Sure You Clean-up Outside.
Make sure the home’s exterior is clear of debris, leaves, or snow so your home is inviting with excellent curb appeal. If it has recently snowed, make sure there is no ice or snow on your walkway or front porch.
Finally!
It is always a good idea to check the HVAC is working properly.
